She has worked with a range of programs to create a variety of housing types: HOME, CDBG, LIHTC, HUD 202 Elderly Housing, HUD 811 for People with Disabilities, loan funds, foundations, New Market Tax Credits, and tax fee bonds to develop community arts facilities, affordable rental and homeownership units, and a multipurpose child and family resource center with Head Start classrooms all featuring energy efficient design. During her 25 years of work on a wide variety of projects, Mary has gained comprehensive experience in both the housing and programming sides of community development efforts with the creation of human service programs for homeless children and at risk youth and a regional food warehouse. Teams Mary has facilitated succeeded in both bringing in additional revenue for existing programs and creating new programs and facilities to meet emerging community needs. This was accomplished by implementing annual strategic planning processes, where a development plan for pursuing grants and other fundraising opportunities was set into motion.Since coming on staff at Sabin in June of 2013, Mary has applied this leadership experience to stabilize effectively the organization and embark on a more sustainable path with the development of systems, fiscal and human resource policies, and cost saving administrative measures.
