Meet Becca

Becca is one of two Confluence Americorps members serving her term at Sabin CDC this year as an Environmental Livability Coordinator. Alongside Larson, she works to maintain Sabin CDC’s landscapes, promote service learning opportunities, and engage with residents to better the overall livability of our residential communities and beyond. This year, some of Becca’s focuses will be helping to plan Pass-It-On Days, leading volunteer groups, and strengthening residential environmental livability through regenerative landscaping. Becca graduated this past May in Tacoma, WA from the University of Puget Sound with honors in Sociology and Anthropology and a minor in African American Studies. Originally hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Becca came to the PNW interested in social equity and sustainability with a passion for urban green space accessibility, and is excited to be in Portland to serve Sabin and its NE community!

About Community

Sabin’s Livability Initiative is an ongoing and organization-wide project to intentionally improve the livability of the culturally diverse neighborhoods that we serve in North East Portland. Livability is the sum of factors that add up to a community’s quality of life. Livability is the presence of color, art, and diversity, but it’s also unusable sidewalks, skyrocketing rent prices, and lack of green space.
