Meet Larson

Larson is one of two Confluence AmeriCorps members serving his term with Sabin CDC as an Environmental Livability Coordinator. Larson will be working with Becca to lead community volunteer groups and engage with residents to improve and maintain outdoor nature scapes, increase greenspace activity, and assist with the implementation of livability projects. Larson will also be assisting with the implementation of projects such as the Strategic Energy Management project and the Furnish A Change program. Larson graduated from the University of Portland in 2023 with a degree in Environmental Ethics and Policy. Through his coursework and volunteer experiences he became passionate about sustainable practices, environmental equity, and education which drew him to the work being done at Sabin CDC and the Confluence AmeriCorps program. Larson served a previous AmeriCorps term with Washington County Solid Waste and Recycling. He is excited to continue his journey with Sabin CDC.

About Community

Sabin’s Livability Initiative is an ongoing and organization-wide project to intentionally improve the livability of the culturally diverse neighborhoods that we serve in North East Portland. Livability is the sum of factors that add up to a community’s quality of life. Livability is the presence of color, art, and diversity, but it’s also unusable sidewalks, skyrocketing rent prices, and lack of green space.
